If an employer plans to hire a citizen from Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, or Moldova, they should consider an alternative path to work permits. The declaration of entrusting work to a foreigner. This option offers a shorter waiting time for documentation. It simplifies the process. There is no need to obtain information from the district labour office, which is usually required in the work permit procedure.
Declaration of entrusting work to a foreigner is entered in the register of the local labour office.

The statement on entrusting work to a foreigner includes:
- personal data of the foreigner;
- employer’s details
- position or type of work performed;
- name and code of the occupation according to the classification of the Central Statistical Office;
- PKD symbol (Polish Classification of Activities) of the company;
- place of work and additional information about it;
- the type of contract on which the work is based;
- gross salary value;
- the number of working hours;
- validity period of the declaration;
Depending on the needs, the employer can apply for a longer or shorter validity period. The application must be submitted to the local labour office. Find detailed information in the table below:
Place of application | District Labour Office based on the employer’s location or the foreign worker’s permanent residence |
Stamp duty | 100 PLN |
Validity Period | Up to 24 months |
Processing Time | Up to 7 working days, or 30 days if an explanatory investigation is required |

Remember that any change in the conditions of work performed by a foreigner, such as:
- change of job position (does not apply to the situation of changing just name, while maintaining the same duties);
- change in working hours;
- reduction of remuneration;
- change of the place of work
will require the employer to submit a new declaration for registration. The planned changes can only be implemented once the new declaration is processed.
