Piotr Owczarek
Attorney-at-law and doctoral candidate at the University of Lodz. His dissertation will concern the LOB clauses in double taxation treaties concluded by Poland. His past scientific work was focused on comparing the Polish and German corporate legal systems. In the past, an Erasmus scholar at the University of Cologne and a graduate of a two-year American Law School programme run by the Michigan State University. He is currently a deputy disciplinary spokesman at the Lodz Bar Association.
His professional experience had been gained i.e. in the Department of International Co-operation and European Law of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland and one of the biggest Polish law firms – SK&S Legal in Warsaw.
He has a broad experience in corporate legal support of foreign and domestic (both private and public) companies. He advised on biggest infrastructure investments in the region, as well as lead many negotiation processes and supervised several long-term commercial projects of Polish entities abroad i.e. in Western Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. He represents Clients in corporate disputes and court litigations as well as advises on restructuring processes.
His main areas of expertise are corporate, tax and contractual law.
He speaks fluent English and German.
